For the first time in book form, this is the collection of drawings and watercolours amassed by Calouste Gulbenkian. Such works are rarely put on display, being kept away from the public eye, and are therefore less well-known.

The catalogue includes pieces of exceptional quality from the various periods when art in pharaonic Egypt was at its height and, not only covers the pieces on display at the Museum, but also those kept in the storeroom.

Calouste Gulbenkian amassed a remarkable collection of Japanese art. This publication explores this aspect of his activity, bringing together a large number of Japanese prints from the 17th to the 19th centuries.

The collection of 18th- and early-19th-century French silverware brought together by Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian is the most important of its time and one of the most significant sections of the Gulbenkian Museum’s collection. These pieces constitute a unique both in diversity and quality.
