Transition Year is the year of living differently. You are fifteen or thereabouts, you are heading towards adulthood; you are one of a group but, above all else, you are yourself. And the world is all before you. This anthology contains a range of material, which I hope you'll find interesting and challenging and worthwhile. You will not have time to read and discuss everything in class but I like to think that you might read some things on your own, that you will look after yourself and recognise not only the importance of becoming your own person; and that you will always keep your eyes and ears and mind open to a multitude of experiences. This is the year that prepares you for Leaving Cert but, more importantly, it prepares you for the rest of your live.
